It’s not been too much time since I published my poetry collection called “Death & Darker Realms” and the sense of accomplishing something is slightly fading. If you are a fellow blogger who doesn’t know what to blog about, might I suggest that you read it and do a review? You can trash it if you hate it, or appreciate it if you like it. Not too bad a suggestion right?

So some of my friends have asked me why I priced my book so low and my first answer was “to make it affordable?”. The e-book costs less than 2 dollars and for those who have a kindle unlimited membership, it’s practically free to read! In-fact, it’s actually free to read, just that the membership costs about a 100 + dollars for a year I think. I do have a membership though, because I read a LOT.

In fact, just because I have priced my book on the lower band, I am entitled to lesser royalty on the book. A friend tried to explain me something about economics and pricing and I was like “bro, I didn’t do an MBA”.

“Maybe you should” he says.

I mean, the questions made me wonder if I really did under-price my book or if I was being that ‘useless, evil’ writer who is ready to sell her book for peanuts just to get it out, bringing down the value of books. But then again I think about it from a reader’s point of view, which I have been my whole life. There have been so many books that I have been excited about reading and was then discouraged by the pricing.

I love graphic novels but could never afford to buy them until my salary finally got a little decent after 4 years of struggle in the Journalism industry. Why should I not then make my own book affordable? Especially because it deals with themes like death, depression among other things.

I definitely don’t know the book’s worth because no writer can ever rightly judge the worth of their own book. But making money is clearly not my agenda. I write when I feel down or when I feel inspired, I write for myself and I have just decided to share that with the rest of the world. I just picked a price that I myself would be willing to pay for a new writer with no reviews.

Anyway, if you are still reading this, it would be great if you could check my book out. If you decide to review it, link it back to me or drop the link in the comment section and I will check it out.
