#ThrowbackThursday 🌊🏖️😭

Book number 35 for the year - "The Trouble With Women" by Jacky Flemin. I just randomly stumbled upon this title while looking for affordable graphic novels. The name was obviously triggering for a second (trouble with women? excuse me - we are perfect). Then I noticed it was by a woman author. "Ooh, interesting, a satire!" I thought and clicked 'buy' immediately.

Book number 34 for this year - "Am I There Yet?" by Mari Andrew. This book felt somewhere between "self-help" and "personal diary". It took me three days to finish, because it was challenging to keep my interest alive over its content. Most of the book is about how to survive your twenties. The pages were neither relatable nor interesting for me. One can understand why it's a NYT bestseller, because it's very "American" and lot of young U.S women/men might find it funny/relatable or even comforting. I also expected more doodles in the book. It's just not for my shelf. Could be made for yours.

Have you ever wanted to hug a book after you finished reading it? "Hey, Kiddo" by Jarret J. Krosocza is that kind of book! I instinctively embraced this graphic memoir after finishing it, thinking "every kid needs to read this".

Book no. 32 this year - been wanting to read 'Giovanni's Room' by James Baldwin, but strangely, it had been hard to find a reasonably priced copy online. And sometimes, it wouldn't even be in stock. But finally stumbled upon this Penguin classic edition at a bookstore, when I wasn't even looking for it (was out to buy graphic novels).
