“It’s easier to be crazy around crazy people” – that’s the quote of the day from The Mighty Nein episode 7, delivered when Jester starts missing her new friends after they disband… but only for a minute.
Titled “Belonging”, the episode begins with a grisly public execution, all engineered by Trent Ikithon, one of the antagonists of the show. If you’ll remember, Episode 6 of The Mighty Nein ended with Ikithon revealing the true powers of the Beacon to King Dwendal, using it against Kryn soldiers to secure his standing with the kingdom and save himself from persecution.
Meanwhile, the Mighty Nein successfully pull off their first proper heist as a group for the Gentleman. So impressed is he by their work that he offers them another job at the start of Episode 6, this time asking them to steal a valuable Kryn artefact, and promises compensation generous enough to ensure they’d never have to work another day in their lives. While Jester and Nott are thrilled by the offer, the rest of the group is far less enthusiastic, ultimately turning it down and choosing to go their separate ways.

Much of the episode focuses on how each of the primary characters copes after the group splits up, and not everyone fares as well as they’d hoped. However, some of them get the chance to engage in one-on-one interactions, which helps deepen their friendships. One of the more surprising encounters occurs when Beau runs into Fjord during a dangerous personal crisis, allowing the two to bond over the situation.
The most entertaining part of Episode 6 is a hilarious subplot in which Nott and Jester fake a possession to frighten church members and steal some valuables. Overall, it’s a highly entertaining installment that ends with the Mighty Nein reuniting and ultimately deciding to take on the Kryn artefact job after all.

Elsewhere, Essek, whose betrayal of the empire and role in stealing the Beacon is uncovered by a close friend, begins plotting yet another scheme by deliberately misleading the Bright Queen of the Kryn empire.
Titled “The Zadash Job,” Episode 8 of The Mighty Nein centers on the gang’s mission to steal the Kryn Beacon, even as political tensions and war simmer around it. From not-so-stealthily swiping an invitation to an exclusive gala where the Beacon will be displayed, to plotting an elaborate scheme to outwit the venue’s over-the-top security, The Zadash Job is packed with chaos, comedy, magic, and just a dash of violence.
These chapters also carry a strong emotional undercurrent, particularly when Caleb comes face to face with his former Volstrucker allies, who have been relentlessly hunting him. Meanwhile, Fjord and Beau infiltrate the gala in disguise to secure the artifact, while Nott, Molly, and Jester handle the getaway.
Can the Mighty Nein escape with the heist of the century under their belts? The road is anything but easy, with the plan unraveling thanks to a sudden mid-air skirmish involving Kryn soldiers and Trent Ikithon.
Meanwhile, Yasha the Orphanmaker once again steals some of the spotlight, delivering some of the episode’s most dramatic moments before finally crossing paths with the Mighty Nein in a striking, climactic scene.
