Last year November, my entire office had to shift cities, because the company was moving it’s headquarters to the national capital of India.
I decided to take only two books to Delhi and leave the rest home. But since November last year to June this year, in just six months, I have already bought enough books to fill my little book shelf.
Superwoman (I sketch sometimes) is covering a whole bunch of comics and facing her is my modest graphic novel collection.
I went a little crazy when I attended a book fair in Delhi and bought like seven novels in one go!
Bought these at the book fair, read all of them. Two are second-hand.
The imperfectionists was a fun read about the private lives of both reporters and editors working for an English newspaper in Rome. Some of it was very relatable to the journalist in me.
Pregnant King by Patnaik is gripping and written effortlessly. The plot is as engaging as a story from the Mahabharata. Couldn’t leave it till I finished it.
The Kunal Basu book is not a bad read for those who are into romantic stuff. It’s set in a different era, so it has a certain level of charm that can keep the reader hooked.
This is my favorite set – Graphic Novels! Something I have started indulging in only recently because they are not very affordable. Have read all three pictured here (of course :D)
Ghosts is an absolutely adorable book about two sisters moving to a new town. It’s primarily meant for kids but adults who are still in touch with the child in them would love it. And I think this book may have been an inspiration for the animated film Coco, which won the Golden Globe awards. Since both have the Mexican Day of the Dead as a dominant theme.
This is my comic book haul from my Mussoorie trip June 2018! We went to a shop there where author Ruskin Bond comes to sign books on Saturdays. He didn’t turn up the weekend my friend and I were there. But these second hand comics made my day and the shopkeeper agreed to give me some extra discount.
These are some of the comics that were hiding behind superwoman. (What can I say, just love reading light stuff after a hard day at work).
Okay, last set, no more close ups. The only three Hindi novels on the shelf because I think my hindi needs brushing up. Yet to touch finish any.
Will wrap this post with a picture from the current book I am reading. It’s an anthology of comics strips and short stories.
Ruskin Bond didn’t turn up the weekend of your visit as well? I have come across another couple of blog posts mentioning the same. I hope he’s fine ๐
And that is some book collection for the year!
The shop owner told us that he had am meeting to attend. He is a famous author, so I am guessing he doesn’t spend all his Saturdays in Mussoorie. We just weren’t lucky enough! ๐
