If you haven’t seen Devil Wears Prada 2 yet, honestly, you are not missing out on much. Despite its very talented cast, this sequel is what some of us would call a ā€œtime-passā€ film. Watchable enough if you have absolutely nothing better to do.

Quick look at The Devil Wears Prada 2 (audio version below)

The movie once again follows Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, but this time she is a respected journalist who somehow gets fired while literally receiving an award for her work. Soon after, she is offered a job heading the features team at Runway magazine, where her former nightmare boss Miranda Priestly is still running the fashion empire.

Only now, Miranda is not really terrifying anymore. She is actually… fairly tolerable? Even nice at times? So honestly, the title Devil Wears Prada 2 already feels misleading.

Anyway, Andy’s friend in publishing suggests she use her renewed access to Miranda to secretly write a juicy tell-all book about the legendary editor. At the same time, Andy struggles to produce click-worthy online stories for Runway, until she finally lands Miranda an exclusive interview with Sasha, a mysterious billionaire famous for avoiding the press. The interview becomes a huge success, especially since Sasha gives them a scoop about dating someone new and planning to donate away her fortune.

Andy also reunites with Emily Blunt’s Emily, who now works a senior role at Dior and is dating a billionaire. Because, why not? There isn’t much drama going on between the two women in ā€˜Devil Wears Prada 2.

Then the owner of Runway suddenly dies, and Andy discovers his son plans massive budget cuts that would basically gut the magazine. In a very convenient plot twist, Andy convinces Emily to get her billionaire boyfriend to secretly buy Runway behind Miranda’s back. It’s supposed to be a favor for Miranda. But surprise! Emily actually plans to fire Miranda and run the magazine herself.

So, Andy quickly flies to billionaire Sasha with Miranda and gets her to outbid Emily’s boyfriend instead. And she does. Just like that. Problem solved. Miranda keeps Runway, everybody survives capitalism for another day, and Miranda even gives Andy permission to write whatever she wants in her tell-all book.

Yep. That is basically Devil Wears Prada 2.
