Knee deep in water and he burnt

slowly, then swiftly, turning into ash

crumbling first from within

his insides glowing embers

his hands like thin tapers

Not once did he waver

Melting into the salt water

strange was his demise

whispered in street corners

his love and his sacrifice

but never reaching ears

of him who was the wax

For He was but just wick

who burnt in his arms

he fuelled him with love

devouring him bit by bit

both consumed in fire

each cutting the other

a mad mutual murder
