Can one think of a better way to spend the evening than this – listening to great records on a turntable, while it softly drizzles outside, and you with your friends are singing along with a nice drink in your hand.
We owed one such great evening to a friend of ours who is a total music junkie and swears by the good old classics. He showed his records like a proud father and we made our requests with equal enthusiasm.
“We don’t need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!”
Nostalgia guaranteed with this one right? It is funny how I heard this song first in some Angelina Jolie movie in the nineties.
Anyway, we went on to other records and saw some kick ass album art. He showed us one of the covers that a record came in, all the way from England to Mumbai for only 1500 Indian rupees with a courteous signed note from the seller.
