Adding three new books to the shelf! #Shelfie #Bookstagram

Was just telling a friend about how I once tripped on a loose slab covering a storm-drain and my phone fell in. This picture was minutes after that. The onlookers were very amused to see me (evidently a tourist to them) try and retrieve my phone from the gutter water. Talk about little travel disasters. #throwback #travelmemories #travelgram

Book number 55 for the year - Pashmina by Nidhi Chanani. This graphic novel is a sweet tale about discovering one's roots. The illustrations are adorable and I loved how there would be sudden burst of colours in some panels, while most part of it was monochromatic. Priyanka Das, the American-Indian protagonist discovers a magical shawl that transports her to historical places in India. So she decides to take a trip to India to find out tje truth behind her mystical pashmina shawl. While I wasn't a fan of the sentimental religious themes in the book, it makes for a breezy read. (On the sides are just some cute elephants I drew long back)

Book number 54 for the year - "Luisa - Now & Then', a graphic novel which involves freak time-travel, body-swapping and coming to terms with one's sexuality 🏳️‍🌈. While the plot is not very strong, it has fun characters and the artwork is sunny and pretty to look at. Book number 53 for the year - "Sweet Tooth" Deluxe Edition by Jeff Lemire. Saw the Netflix show first, which was absolutely adorable in parts due to the cute protagonist. But having read Lemire's work in the past, I was pretty sure the original comics couldn't have been so... well... PG-13. And true enough, the comic series is darker, bloodier and Gus looks nothing like the sweet chubby boy from the live-action show. And the characters are a lot more morally grey.

OH-FREAKING-HELL.
