Heat, inside the head..

A lamp lit, now blazing fire

The skin seeks the bed

Just solace, not desire

It gets cold, now shivers

Vision heavy and fading

The outside still simmers

Body temperature rising

Restless, like death’s call

To pills, pillows & quilts

Endless sleep’s pall

Everything around wilts

In sheets I disappear

Despairing, near tears

Then tear after tear

As if death itself nears

Melting in soiled sheets

Odours of the sick most foul

Of skin that still seethes

Like disease on prowl

To pills, pillows & quilts

Restless, like death’s call

Everything around wilts

Endless sleep, that’s all. well-being-1681783_960_720
