The Delhi police today arrested a 21-year-old YouTuber who calls himself ‘Crazy Sumit’ and had uploaded a prank video where he would kiss random girls and run off. The video created an uproar, as his shit as hell prank, was definitely not a ‘prank’ but blatant harassment.
Touching anybody without their permission is assault. The youth in question told the cops that his video was staged and that the women in the video were known to him and he had their permission to kiss them. While the cops are going to probe the case and find out what the truth was, I want to assert this again – touching anyone, be it a guy or a girl, without their permission is assault!
Some may take it lightly and let it go, but there are others who could be potentially traumatised by such an incident. Some people are fiercely personal and hate being touched by strangers and such an incident can remain with them for the rest of their lives.
Regardless of how one may feel about such an event, to all those who think that a ‘prank’ like that is funny – it’s not.
